Love is spelled T-I-M-E. Spend it wisely with those who matter most.

All the money in the world cannot buy more of it. So when your child asks for a hug and you are in the middle of a task, how do you respond?

Did you know that there are 86,400 seconds in a day? That’s 31,536,000 seconds in a year. Your children are your responsibility until they turn 18 years old. That’s 567,648,000 seconds until they can claim adulthood.

Most kids stop asking for hugs when they are between 8 and 10 years old. That’s 252,288,000 seconds until your child will start gravitating towards not asking for hugs.

I have another song in my head…

“ If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I want to do is to save every day til eternity passes away just to spend it with you.”

LOVE doesn’t always have to be stuff because sometimes just sharing some of the seconds in a day means the most to both you and your child!

Complications!!!! What kind of complications?(Continued from issue 14)

My heart rate went up to over 200 beats per minute. I was pregnant with no known heart conditions. They STOPPED my heart to get in under control (glad it restarted without issue). I just wanted to go home and sleep in my bed next to my husband.

The doctors put me in the MICU, Maternity Intensive Care Unit, to keep an eye on me and my baby instead of letting me go home after spending this last week relearning how to walk. Now the doctors want to run a test using a radioactive isotope to determine WHY my heart rate went so high. WHAT!!!!

BUT there could be complications for the baby so my husband, the baby’s daddy, needed to agree to the test.

The small list that the doctors told us was…

Complications to a fetus can include growth restriction, malformations, impaired brain function, and cancer. Oh, so nothing major!!!!!!!

Let’s review the milestones, what number am I up to now?

Oh yeah keep stress levels low because I am pregnant but…

First, I had the morning sickness which was stressful.

Second, there was all the talk of the world coming to an end due to Y2K.

Third, I was bleeding vaginally.

Fourth, MS made me a paraplegic.

Fifth, my heart rate went above 200 beats per minute.

Sixth, my husband had to be called back to the hospital because the doctors wanted to STOP MY HEART!!!!!

Seventh, my baby could die so we could save my life!

Eighth, why am I still in the hospital?

Ninth, complications for the baby just to do a test?

I was in my 7th month of pregnancy by this point the fetus is kicking and rolling over. The bones are hardening, and the baby is getting bigger. All major parts have been developed by this time. During this time of a pregnancy the fetus/baby is usually getting larger in size, growing hair and finger/toenails.

The doctors gave us a sense of confidence that the baby would be ok if the mom had her heart tested to determine why her heart rate went up so high. So my husband and I agreed to have the test done. I agreed on the condition that I could go home after it was done.

I was brought into yet another special area of the hospital to have this test done. They injected me with the special radioactive isotope which they then followed via a special camera on a screen to see where the isotope went.

Where did it go?

Back to that in the next newsletter…
