âEven on tough days, youâre a superhero.âHey SuperMOMs Ever have a day that just didnât go as planned? Listen to this story and tell me if you can relate⌠Emma woke up ready to conquer the dayâlaundry, meal prep, and quality time with the kids. But by 9 AM, the toddler had spilled juice on the couch, the baby refused to nap, and the laundry was still in a heap. She burned lunch, stepped on a rogue Lego, and nearly cried when the WiFi crashed during homeschool. Does this story sound familiar? | ![]() Super MOMs Unite! Notice it says that Emma nearly cried. I am sure we have all had those days even today. But we as SuperMOMs wipe away those tears, pull up our pants and go on to plan B or C or maybe even D because even on tough days we are the SuperMOM! Whatâs a crazy day that you have had that you went to Plan D and it turned out AWESOME or even a little funny now that you look back on it? |

Where did it go?âŚ(Continued from issue 15)
Tests, tests, and more tests, the nurses were checking my vitals every few hours as well as checking on the babyâs vitals on the machine that was connected to my belly. But none of these tests showed WHY my heart rate went up to 200 that night.
The doctors wanted to do 1 more test to determine what could have caused it except this test required using a radioactive isotope that they would inject into my blood stream and then follow it using another special machine. On any other day this would have been no big deal to say ok to but this time my husband and I have to make sure that the baby that is growing inside of me will be ok.
After talking with the doctors and each other and some praying we decided to have the test done.
I was taken to yet another special area of the hospital. In this room was a set up that included a video screen attached to a special camera called a gamma camera. Here I was injected with the radioactive isotope that acted as a âtracerâ. This tracer iTalk s designed to accumulate in a specific area of the body (in this case my heart), allowing doctors to image my heart using that special camera hoping to be able to âseeâ how my heart rate went up so high. After about 20-30 minutes an image was created and studied.
Talk about stress!
Oh yeah what are we up to now?
Keep stress levels low because I am pregnant butâŚ
First, I had the morning sickness which was stressful.
Second, there was all the talk of the world coming to an end due to Y2K.
Third, I was bleeding vaginally.
Fourth, MS made me a paraplegic.
Fifth, my heart rate went above 200 beats per minute.
Sixth, my husband had to be called back to the hospital because the doctors wanted to STOP MY HEART!!!!!
Seventh, my baby could die so we could save my life!
Eighth, why am I still in the hospital?
Ninth, complications for the baby just to do a test?
Tenth, waiting for the results from that radioactive isotope test!
At this point, I was back in the MICU area to keep an eye on me and the baby to be sure that nothing went wrong. After several hours we got the answer.
My doctor came to my area with my MICU nurse standing by, only to deliver that there was NO answer at least no definitive answer. My heart looked great, and the test went as it should have.
The doctor said that they can only assume that what happened is that for some reason the electric pulse also known as your heart rate âgot stuckâ in one of the chambers of my heart and kept going in circles until they âshut it downâ by stopping my heart.
Great so all that stress for NO answer!
I was finally released from the hospital BUT now due to all the things I had been through especially the paralysis caused by MS and the needing to use IV steroids to regain my ability to walk, I left with orders to start taking insulin by injection and checking my blood sugar levels 4 times a day and eating only 1300 calories a day.
I hate needles! Now I have to use needles to check my blood sugar levels and follow that up with insulin injections too.
What other stresses could there be?
Back to that in the next newsletterâŚ
