WHAT’S NEXT?(Continued from issue 5)
My husband and I decided to keep our secret until we were in the second trimester of pregnancy, for us that meant holding our tongues until at least January because the baby’s due date was July 3 of 2000.
For those of you that were alive then in 1999 or maybe read about the fears that the world was coming to an end because all the computers were going to blow up due to Y2K!!!
What is Y2K you might ask? Y = Year and 2K stands for 2 thousand. Computers and cell phones were only using the last 2 digits of the year. Instead of using 1999 we were all in the habit of just saying ’98 or ’99 so Y2K would then be ’00. All of the computers would then “reset” back to zero causing everything on computers to “erase” everything and could also potentially cause the power plants to blow up. OMG
As a believer in God, I prayed every night for the world not to end and for my morning sickness to end. As you can see, my prayers as well as everyone else’s prayers, the world did NOT end on January 1, 2000, and neither did my morning sickness.
One out of 2 is not bad. But suddenly a third issue came about. I woke up early one day in January to blood in the toilet.
Emergency call to my OBGYN doctor’s office to get an emergency appointment.
Stress is something that pregnant women should avoid.
First, I had morning sickness which was stressful.
Second, there was all the talk of the world ending due to Y2K.
Now I am bleeding vaginally how much more stress could one pregnancy take.
Oh, wait I almost forgot, I have MS too. Those in the family who knew I was pregnant pointed out to me what had happened to my husband’s aunt who also had MS after she gave birth put her in a nursing home and caused her baby to be raised by family members and an au pair, not his mother. All these stresses did not keep stress out of the picture for this pregnant lady so when I saw blood in the toilet, I got scared!
What else could challenge this pregnancy? Back to that in the next newsletter…
Stay inspired, Super Moms!
Remember, you’re doing an amazing job,
one day at a time. đź’Şđź’–
