What else could go wrong?… (Continued from issue 11)
200 beats per minute feel like your heart is trying to jump out of your chest. I was hoping for the numbness in my feet to return because that didn’t hurt like the pain I was feeling in the middle of my chest. The concern going through my mind too was the baby in my belly.
My baby was the only thing I was thinking about at this point so when all these medical professionals were in my room I said, “We need to call my husband.”
When my husband left the hospital with his mom who had come for moral support, they stopped to get something to eat because it was way past dinner time. They had just arrived home when the phone rang. The night nurse called my husband and told him to come back to the hospital because his wife was in trouble.
They never ate the food. They returned in the car and drove back to the hospital to find that my room was full of medical professionals. The doctors introduced themselves to him and then pulled him aside to explain what was happening.
So where was I?
Oh yeah, keep stress levels low because I am pregnant but…
First, I had the morning sickness which was stressful.
Second, there was all the talk of the world coming to an end due to Y2K.
Third, I was bleeding vaginally.
Fourth, MS made me a paraplegic.
Fifth, my heart rate went above 200 beats per minute.
Sixth, my husband had to be called back because the doctors wanted to STOP MY HEART!!!!!
My husband had to be called back to the hospital because there was a baby involved. By stopping my heart, they were putting the baby’s life at risk as well. He had to agree to the procedure.
Yes, you read that correctly! The doctors wanted to physically stop my heart from beating because all of the “tricks” to slow it down were not working.
STOP MY HEART!!!! WHAT!?!?!?
Back to that in the next newsletter…
